Dear Resident

Summer has arrived and we are now complaining it is too hot and the flowers need watering!

However let’s enjoy our English Summer as I expect it will not last too long !

Last month was the election, and whilst helping Nigel Huddleston deliver his leaflets, I discussed the time it is taking to get Network Rail to agree the connection to the pedestrian bridge from the new proposed WDC car park at Honeybourne Railway Station. He agreed it was totally unsatisfactory and promised he would meet Network Rail to speed things up. Since the election I have been speaking to Nigel and WDC to arrange a meeting in September with Network Rail. Fingers crossed.

Highways:

Please check https://one.network/  to see all the temporary road closures and temporary traffic lights on a regular basis.

  1. Water still coming down the lane by Kanes entrance and across the B4085 into School Lane. I met with WCC Drainage Engineer on site and he has agreed to increase the depth and width of the Aco drainage strip across the bottom of this lane – scheduled w/c 3/11/24

  1. Mud and debris along the kerb of B4085 between the junction of School Lane and Arrow Lane. Road sweeping was requested, and I chased and I believe it has now been done.

  1. Water run off from Pete Bott Site -  I met Peter Bott and the WCC Drainage engineer, and he agreed to build a “water capture pit” deep enough to stop the sediment and mud escaping from his site. This has been built see below

This pit will be connected to the highways drainage system to excess excess water running down the road from the site.

  1. WCC granted permits for the installation of VAS (Vehicle Activated Signs) last month to help reduce speeding in Blakes Hill and Cleeve Rd. Hopefully this will help with your application for a grant from West Mercia Police.

  1. Can I remind all Parishes to kill the weeds and grass growing on the pavements and kerbs.

  1. Also can I remind everyone to try and keep the road gullys outside their houses free of debris so the drains work effectively. Simply remove any leaves or mud with a brush or spade or even with your wellie! By doing this one minute task, it will help minimise road flooding. Thank you.

As always, if you have any issues on any Highways matters, please report it on the WCC website http://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/homepage/98/report_it

Also remember a photo of the Highways problem is as good as “a thousand words” so always take a photo where possible.

Rooftop and Tithe Way, Middle Littleton

I had a meeting with the CEO of Rooftop to discuss the repairs to Tithe Way (access road to garages) and he agreed this road will be repaired in the near future.
